Description
This signed watercolor was painted circa 1953. It was painted and originally shown on Reinhold and Doris’s honeymoon. Reinhold was invited to a conference to be held in Red Cloud and used this as a pretext to propose to Doris. They traveled across the country in an unreliable station wagon, only to find that the conference had been canceled. The sponsor’s letter concerning the cancellation had gone astray. The sponsor found some accommodation for them, and they spent at least a week in Red Cloud. While there, they BOTH did quite a few watercolors and had plein air shows on the side of the Swinging Doors Saloon and the fence of a wildlife safari. The piece is 22″ x 16″ and the current frame is 33″ x 27″
