Proceeds from the sale of this piece will go toward improving the classrooms and playground of St. John Child Development Center or toward Concordia University’s Center for Liturgical Art‘s effort to restore Reinhold Marxhausen’s Studio.

Description

Marxhausen was perhaps best known for his sound sculptures. This is a medium plucked sound sculpture. This particular example was designed by Marxhausen so that it could be hung from above. It is nearly completely enclosed and bares a strong resemblance to a Cosmic Cube. You can hear this sound sculpture in the video below.
